Andrea McCormick: Bio

Andrea McCormick has performed on and off Broadway as well as across the country with numerous productions after receiving her a BFA in acting from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. Broadway and 1st National Tour credits include The Wizard of Oz ( Grammy nominated recording ) and Footloose (directed by Walter Bobbie) in which she originated the role of Urleen on the 1st national tour before joining the Broadway cast.

Off Broadway, Andrea was an original cast member of the critically acclaimed hit BUSH WARS and has been a long standing member of the Emmy Award winning comedy troupe THE NEWS IN REVUE.

Regional credits include BIG RIVER (Mary Jane- Paper Mill Playhouse), the Pajama Game (Centre Stage), Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat...with Andrew Lippa, Scott Wise and Andrea McCardle (Helen Hayes Perf. Arts Center), Little Shop of Horrors (Audrey - The Aronoff Center,Cinc.) and much more.

Andrea made her Carnegie Hall debut as a featured soloist in Bernsteins MASS and has had the privilege of performing along side such legends as Mickey Rooney, Eartha Kitt, Lou Rawls, Melanie Griffith, Judith Light, Sandy Duncan and more. Andrea was thrilled to have worked on the short film 'For Love of the Film' which won the coveted hand picked George Lucas Award in the 2005 Star Wars Film Festival and was featured on NBC's The Today Show.

Andrea is proud to have released her first solo album 'BROADWAY' , a collection of musical favorites from past and present and is happy to have released her latest album 'AT LAST' which showcases her pop/r&b talents. Both albums have been well received in NY and internationally!

Andrea most recently completed 2 years as an Artistic Director at the Palace Theatre in Manchester, NH where she has also appeared in many productions including BEAUTY AND THE BEAST (Belle), A CHORUS LINE (Cassie), SWEET CHARITY (Charity), CATS (Demeter), GREASE (Sandy) and in SWING! which featured the talented Sabra who recently won the national television competition SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE! During her stay Andrea was the Artistic Director of the Palace Youth Theatre which is the largest and fastest growing youth theatre in the state of NH. She also was assistant Director and contributing choreographer for their "Broadway Series" of shows including THE PRODUCERS, THE WEDDING SINGER, A CHRISTMAS CAROL, PIPPIN, CRAZY FOR YOU, A CHORUS LINE, and more!

In 2009 Andrea teamed up with her long-time partner Carl Rajotte to write, direct and choreograph two original productions: ROCKETMEN and BROADWAY'S BEST the MUSIC! Both shows have been well received by critics and fans alike!

Andrea is currently the Artistic Director of the American Music Theatre in Lancaster, PA and is looking forward to many exciting productions in the coming year!
